AWESOME!!!

Just got home! LONG drive from Spa to Midlands today, via the ‘Crioux’ circuit! (another story!!! :crazy:)

SPA is just totally amazing! It was wet/damp all morning, but had a dry line for about 2 hours PM. Rained after again!!!

Will post about the 3 days away and also some Vid!!! Harvey and I are totally knackered but all back safe and sound, me with another 1300 miles on the car! Worth every penny guys!

If you have not yet driven Spa, it MUST be done!

Speak more soon! :slight_smile:

glad you enjoyed it, i knew you would, it is awesome :smiley:

Tosser! :smiley:

Got back late last night, another vote for “SPA is amazing” :smiley:
It’s an epic place that no amount of video or explanations even comes close to what it is actually like, the scale of the place is awe inspiring, and of coarse going through Eau Rouge at 90mph in the wet and the car side stepping half way up the hill as you hit the small dip mid corner is something I’ll never forgot.
Went to the Nurbergring yesterday as it is just round the corner only for a look though. Then to Luxembourg and back home 600miles in a day :astonished: The whole trip with 3 Exiges in convoy, it was pretty special :slight_smile:
also enjoyed maxing the Exige down the Autobahn 150mph indicated on the speedometer = 135mph on the sat nav :slight_smile:
All in all a great birthday :wink:

Brill guys fooking ace! :sunglasses:

150mph Marcus lol what you need is more drag :smiley:

cool man!

Well a short report on our trip to Spa last week.

After a rush to get the car ready, (again many thanks to John & Wayne @ JSR), it was washed, fueled, loaded on the trailer, T5 all loaded up with spare wheels / tyres, tools etc;

Met up with Pete just north of the Dartford Bridge and it was off to the Chunnel where we managed to get an early train;

On arrival at Spa all looked bleak with a real pea souper greeting us;

Stopped at Bernie Ecclestone hotel that wasnt too shabby;

By the next morning the car park had filled up somewhat;

The fog had moved on leaving a cold wet day;

I spent the first few outings on the circuit taking it very cautiously whilst Pete, (Canadian ice racing expert) passed everything in site returning to the paddock with steam pouring off his 888s, (not bad going as it was only about 3 degrees). Must have been something wrong with my car so I asked Pete to take me out in mine obviously being an S1 he went even faster :wink: , so the common denominator was me :blush:

Unfortunately there were a number of causalities in the morning; a black S1 Exige sustained rear clam damage at the top of Eau Rouge along with a new white Elise, a Porsche 924 or 944 lost its front end somewhere on circuit and in the afternoon a red VX damaged its rear clam on Pouhon.
Mid day a dry line started to appear and by about 3pm I started to get the flow of the circuit;

This was ended with a red flag to retrieve the VX and then it started to rain again. The car pulled like a train and for once the UCR box’s ratios worked out a treat :slight_smile:

Facing a 3 to 4 hour drive over to the hotel near Croix, via Brussels, in the rain, in the dark, on a Friday night, we decided to stop in the Hotel de la Source again well thats how we justified it to ourselves.

After a late start, (boy can that Aussie drink!) we arrived at Croix during the lunch break, looked at the state of the cars tyres in the paddock, the damage to one of the MLOC cars, the circuit and decided to push on to Calais and home - yeah I agree with hindsight , a right pair of tired whimps!

Arrived home just gone 7pm in time for a family gathering and a well received chicken chow mein.

All in all had a great time, with cracking company on an awesome circuit, what a way to spend a birthday weekend very tempted by the September event!

Harvey.

Really enjoyed the vid. Good quality sound and vision. What a circuit.
It also explains why I’m so slow. You were revving it to levels that I know the VHPD is capable of but which I’ve been too nervous to approach! Looked like 7.5k/8k?
I’ll have to give myself a talking to.

Great photos and vid Harv! Spa looks awesome. New gauges?

thommo max power was at around 7200 on the original dyno setup, so I try and keep it below 7k most of the time.

Awesome fast circuit which I am eager to drive again and gain more confidence in the car / my abilities - passing the two cars in the barrier at the top of Eau Rouge in the morning was a sobering sight :frowning:

Enjoyed your write up & video, Harvey - thanks for posting. :sunglasses:

Great write up Harvey!!! :sunglasses:

I’ll have to get you to post up my vid… luddites rock!!! :smiley:

Yep Graham - Eliseshop ones fitted by the boys at JSR

Very bling and scary how long it takes for the oil temp to move off the 50 degree mark!

Coolio vid Harv, nice lines. :sunglasses:
