Have you checked the integrity of the inertia switch, when mine started going the car was on the dyno and it would be fine for a while and then the vibration would get to it. The pump would cut out intermittently and was only stopped when I hard wired the switch.
Thanks Jason, the inertia switch seemed ok, we’d tried pressing it in case it had ‘popped’ but it didn’t press down to reset suggesting it was ok. As far as i can remember we also bypassed it and the car still wouldn’t start since the pump still wasn’t priming on ignition on.
Once again, thanks for the suggestions though guys.
Sorry to hear of your probs getting back from le mans, had to use AA several years back myself when had gasket failure (non lotus)on way down there. They were excellent & got me & car back in time for me to hire a rental & still get there in time for race.
Just returned during the week as well after another top wkend. Last couple of weeks had few probs with blowing fuses, fuel pump fuse twice & 3A engine management few times. Had fuel pump replaced last minute by Steve Guiglielmi & it worked a treat, phew!!
I never got there either. Broke down on the M25 ended up going there in the back on my mates car. Not exactly what I planned.
Car back with the dealer now and still not sure what the problem is!. Will be interesting to deal with Lotus Customer Services and see what they have to say.
Seems there was a few of us Lotus owners who didn’t have much luck.
Steve
Cheers drew, must say that the AA have been great so far, very helpful and everything has so far happened as and when they said it would, i just hope they manage to get my car back with similar efficiency.
Hope you’re back on the road soon too Steve.
Are Peter & Steve related?
Knowingly, that is!
Funnily enough I’ve got an uncle Pete. But if you stood me and this pete together you’d know we weren’t related Pete’s about two foot taller than me and probabaly a lot lighter.
Steve
Perhaps that’s why me cars knakered its dragging all this lard around.
Not AFAIK Mr P.
Mind you, we do have something else in common as well as surnames, neither of our cars are working!!!
Had some feedback on my car. In the words of one who know’s about these things. Your cars fooked.
That’s ok then!
Steve
what’s wrong with it then Steve?
Looks like a problem with an injector. NW’s are replacing it tommorow, should have the car back in a few days.Been looking at the S but don’t think it’s s goer ,think the mrs might leave me if I do.
Steve
Hope that sorts it out then, looks like you’ll be back on the road before me anyway!
Have to agree, those S’s they’ve got do look pretty smart, the orange demonstrator is just gorgeous!
They do look smart just trying to justify to myself the extra money (oh and convince the Mrs ofcourse). Will get my car back soon and make a decision.
