No it replaces the original one.

you do realise that in bare carbon UV will attack the bits, always best to get laquered, get matt laquer if you don’t want shinny 
yeah a uv resistant lacquer is usually needed like ade said.
Even then my carbon wing went green. When I took the vinyl stripes off it looked shit. The answer? Carbon wrap the carbon wing

Yer I did buddy, In a nice positive way. Like said carbon work is 1st class but the lacquer was full of fish eyes, I had my friend rub them back and re-paint them. No reply from Scott at all, that was about 4 weeks ago
I have a direct number for Scotts Brother who he makes the parts with. He was very apologetic about the lack of response and has told me to pass on his mobile number if your not happy to get things sorted out for you.
