clips onto OEM ball joints
total cost 5.40
weighs the same as my ignition key
LOL nice one
What kind of pipe is that? I thought about something similar but HEP and overflow pipe are a little flexy.
Its a byangularphone?
it’s anodised aluminium tube from Wicks
not flexi at all.
Nice idea, but with a charge cooler I use the standar one
so
works for me
wanted to try and keep the OEM strut but… no way would it fit
just needed something to keep the lid open.
lid now stays open a lot more than it did with OEM. I made new strut 24" so that’s a bonus. Reason for not just wanting a prop was if lid was open and the wind caught it I could loose my head. any way thought I should share it with you all.
Like it Mikey
Even though I don’t need one it does look good, and a weight saving as well
Bonnet stay
Sensible answer . .sorry
Ahh there are two pages to the thread too late to delete
Nice job!
And co-incidentally I was about to post a new topic asking about engine cover props:
I’ve removed the rubbishy gas struts and gone crazy and splashed out on a RLS prop. The problem is, that my car doesn’t seem to have any of the fittings to hold a prop at either end - there is a threaded hole in the engine cover and a threaded hole in the metal plate by the latch, but there isn’t that metal upstanding bracket at the bottom as shown in that photo. can anyone tell me what bits I need to get hold of? I’ve looked at the parts manual but it doesn’t help much because there are about 3 different types of prop listed and no illustrations…
TIA
Jon

Yeah, seen that thanks: I can spot item 40 as being of some use at the cover end. But it looks like you can only get the ball ended fittings as part of the strut assembly, no? And what exactly is the difference in the cup255 strut?
as the drawing says I think you might need to contact Lotus Sport or a helpful dealer. From what you have said, I assume you have a single strutt. Other port of call could be a breaker.
