I wouldn’t worry about the ownership, JCT wouldn’t try & sell an iffy car in that respect.
The question is, why does this guy regularly “flip” cars (allegedly), & is more than prepared to take a hit on what they cost? 
Some people just do that, never understood it myself, must have more money than sense

Yep was frustrating, with the bidding slowing right down I thought I had the chance of it, Jacqui did hate the colour, but a new car and a Cup 260 for a swap price of 7 or 8k would have been worth it. Never mind…

Bit of a pointless exercise wasn’t it!
Cup260s seem to be struggling to find owners at the moment. There is obviously a seasonal element to it, but it would also appear that being near the �40K mark is a tough ask for used Exiges.
The gulf blue one at B&C was advertised at �44K back in April/May of this year, and still no takers

I think 40K is getting too close to V6 money and people are waiting for the demonstrators before COMIITing (For you Mr Fox)
Also the lure of 260bhp is not as attractive as it was due to the amount of t*ssers getting an easy upgrade from CN’s etc
On the other side I also don’t think people realise what you get for around 40K with a cup car. The carbon alone is around 7K if you had to buy it plus the Ohlins, Accusump etc.
I’m realistic about values and I think my car is worth around 37K if I were to sell
