If the price is right…
Randy, by that rationelle wouldn’t the S2 uprights be more effective as they have the same size wheels as us?
Or am I missing something? (probably )
They would be nice but wouldn’t fit. Different wishbone mounts and wheel offsets.
Ah, so I am missing something
I wish it was that easy. Would be nice to be able to fit most of the S2 suspension as its generally better, has longer wishbones etc.
Which … begs the question if the tub is the same ?
Not sure on that one. It has dropped sills and a different rear sub-frame but I don’t know if the front pick up points are the same.
Plans (I think it was) felt the S2 suspension on the S1 Exige might well be possible, if not cheap and designed for the heavier S2 car (ie. further tinkering required). I’ve remained on the Nitrons plan (if I could just shake off these pesky kids!).

I’m not talking about the S2 shocks but the wishbones and uprights. I’m very happy with my Nitrons and will be sticking with them.

Pesky’s kids are living with you?
Pesky’s kids are living with you?
I should be so lucky
PS IDG, give my regards to your missus
Meanwhile back to the thread …
Looked at Robbos “jumping tyres” today and they do indeed only do it when cold
Maybe to do with tyre temperature and the “rubberness” of the tread when cold vs hot is all I can think of …
what tyres are fitted ??
39’s
mmm…
are they quite ‘feathered’ on the inner tread blocks ?? - i noticed my A039’s got like a sorta wedge shaped wear pattern on the inner edge ( esp after track-days ) and i could imagine this giving the ‘judder’ explained when reversing… the only suggestion for the ‘only when cold’ thing i could offer would be as Miniman says that the rubber is more compliant and i could defo believe that ould happen with A039’s.
Anyway, as long as the geo and balljoint/track-rods etc are all good then the only fix is don’t go backwards…
Andy, Thanks again for looking over me car
Hope I didnt leave any tyre marks on the drive
Rox, Yep my front 39’s are pretty worn, and the wheel which judders worse is the one with the worst tyre
That might be the answer but Im sure it also did it before I put the yokohamas on.
At least I know everything seems to be pretty much ok.
Im going to do a little bit of experimenting with tyre pressures and see if it effects it. Im just intrigued
But who needs to go backwards anyway
But who needs to go backwards anyway
well not on purpose… at least…
Rox,
Your assumptions were bang on
I’ve just put a set of Yoko 48’s on my car and all the juddering on full lock has gone
They just rub the wheel arch liners instead
have you enjoyed A048’s before ? …
