Hey wesj111, I’m truly sorry if I offended you. I’ve just re-read my earlier post, and realised it looks like my commend about flawed understanding of physics was directed at you. That was a general remark on the thread as a whole.
Regardless of that, I appreciate that my response was simply rude considering it’s the very first time I’ve ever encountered you here. Lets hope I can remember my manners the next time.
Just realised why Pete started this thread - to get ahead of me in posts for the month !!!
Also can’t believe there’s a thread on ‘how big my man wing’ is and JF only posted 3 replies and one was about a bloody MIG alarm clock - most disappointing Mr Fox

I can tell you loads about fruit! What do you wanna know?
Getiing back to the original post + the standard S2 & 2010MY wings…
Lotus quote the same downforce for both wings with the 2010 wing having less drag.
In the original pic I’d wager the car is going way too slow to be generating any downforce, so its not even subject to any meaningfull aero. The wing won’t make much difference around Anglesey either as I can think of only one or two momentary places where downforce will come into play.
There have been some posts in this thread I actually understood, shame they were either taking the p1ss or about a MIG alarm clock
Anyway it is a good thread and I think it is all about the look rather than performance, I suspect you actually need to get a proper wing like JF or Will to make any marked difference in either drag or downforce, but what do I know
On a serious point I have been wondering why the 2010 wing is not adjustable - it would be dead easy to have vertical slots where the blade attaches to the upright sections to allow you to adjust the angle of attack.
If someone can make new upright sections you may then start to see improvements over the standard 42kg of quoted downforce
Anyone know if you can just buy the upright bits ?
