Flexing rear wing!

Hey wesj111, I’m truly sorry if I offended you. I’ve just re-read my earlier post, and realised it looks like my commend about flawed understanding of physics was directed at you. That was a general remark on the thread as a whole.

Regardless of that, I appreciate that my response was simply rude considering it’s the very first time I’ve ever encountered you here. Lets hope I can remember my manners the next time.

If I ever meet you for real, I owe you a beer

Cheers Brendan, no worries

PMSL that in 7 pages of thread, NO ONE has commented on my oranges, banana and LIME!!!

LOL ohh yea didnt even notice these was too busy trying to understand what the hell is going on in this thread!

I like my wing, cus its big and looks ard!!!

Need to get it out more then dude!

It is currently keeping a vast amount of dust off my garage floor!

Just realised why Pete started this thread - to get ahead of me in posts for the month !!!

Also can’t believe there’s a thread on ‘how big my man wing’ is and JF only posted 3 replies and one was about a bloody MIG alarm clock - most disappointing Mr Fox :frowning:

MIG ??
What shall we debate now … Metal Inert Gas … Mortgage indemnity Guarantee ???

Only on Exiges !!!

Oh I got it now …More Intoxicating Gravy !!!

Pesky only wants a MiG clock to take him back to the 50s

*PS really enjoyed this thread. Didn’t understand a word of it

I can tell you loads about fruit! What do you wanna know?

Getiing back to the original post + the standard S2 & 2010MY wings…

Lotus quote the same downforce for both wings with the 2010 wing having less drag.

In the original pic I’d wager the car is going way too slow to be generating any downforce, so its not even subject to any meaningfull aero. The wing won’t make much difference around Anglesey either as I can think of only one or two momentary places where downforce will come into play.

Just my 2p

There have been some posts in this thread I actually understood, shame they were either taking the p1ss or about a MIG alarm clock :frowning:
Anyway it is a good thread and I think it is all about the look rather than performance, I suspect you actually need to get a proper wing like JF or Will to make any marked difference in either drag or downforce, but what do I know

Ooh, get you, Mr Serious Essexboy!

PS It’s not an alarm clock, you tosser!

On a serious point I have been wondering why the 2010 wing is not adjustable - it would be dead easy to have vertical slots where the blade attaches to the upright sections to allow you to adjust the angle of attack.

If someone can make new upright sections you may then start to see improvements over the standard 42kg of quoted downforce

Anyone know if you can just buy the upright bits ?

Just my 2p  [/quote]

WHAT!!! ‘way too slow’!!!

I’ll have you know that I was on the ragged edge of control, washing wide of the apex at over 130 mph!

Yep, i thought so (not). Your bootlid does look undone though so maybe thats it

Well it doesn’t happen often

Not an alarm clock, then what is the point  (other than the obvious)

“What’s the point?” It’s bloody obvious! It fires heat-seaking missiles of course

EFA
