real shame
God no, that is awfull does anyone know why it caught on fire?
All i’ve heard was “oil fire” so far - either way, t’was scary stuff, was watching as it happened - very heart in mouth stuff. Reminiscent of that infamous one at Brands a couple years back.

Further news from Matt:
[color:#000099] Everyone is all ok, Rog hasn’t a mark on him and the fire didn’t get into the cabin, and the car will ride again. We shall use the machine for Silverstone. Rog, Gavan and me have unfinished business here in Germany we shall do this again next year this we have already said!!! The whole team is happy and in good minds. It could have been worse, and we all saw and avoided many many bad accidents!!!

Top Team
Well done guys, be great to see it back out soon
That is SCARY…
Really cool and sensible decision the way he jumped out of the car…
I can see why so many peeps wear proper ‘race suits’ on track days. Perhaps it is time to make this mandatory before someone is badly hurt…
Maybe next year should be the year to go then…
WOW, what a nightmare, really feel for Matt and the team.
Does anyone know how long they had been running before this happened?
Think it was about 8pm when things all got a bit toastie so about 6hours. That said, I seem to remember they had some kind of trouble earlier in the race, but, cant for the life of me remember what, great race didnt sleep much haha
David
No problems reported up to this point.
cheers Matt
Watched the event, so sorry to see the car recovered into Adenau
Hope the car runs again
