Exige doesnt use oil?

Full potential, you mean i can even faster

The stack only starts reading at 40C i believe, 10-60 oil is fine thats what i use and i think a few others use it here too.

Strange, but nothing to worry about NOT using any oil, just worried about the temp reading, mind you the fan isn’t programmed to switch on at 83, so i would expect your temp sensor needs replacing.

Maybe

Maybe? HOW? Gonna take it to emerald soon for a tweek and a little chip so that should take it over the 200 barrier. I was told last rolling road it was 197bhp. Guessing this is the same as everybody elses 190 thou

Yep. I use Castrol RS 10-60 - recommended by Gav Kershaw & the engine gurus at Lotus & Scholar.

Less friction, the easier the engine pulls at high revs, therefore faster

Are you having the M3D ECU fitted then ?

Yes, seems to be the way to go! An afternoon with Dave Walker im told is well worth the money

Neil I see you are as bored as me then

It will make a big difference to the drivability of your car

Are you having vernier camshaft pulleys fitted at the same time ? (recommended) and do get a power run before anything is changed so you have a before and after comparision that you can see.

Hi Mark, bored no just putting my mind at rest by picking all these exige gurus brains on my not so much of a problem but now a blessing.

Was again heading that way. in for a penny and all that

Well in that case take it to Dave Andrews first for good head porting etc

My exige has never used much oil either - gets an oil change of castrol slx every 3000 miles and a new oil filter every 6000 miles… We put the old oil into my partners Saab which drinks oil.

Neil

get him to fix yer thermo at the same time…

I could be very wrong on the fan cutting in at 83, never get stuck in traffic in the exige.
Thanks all for ur help! Hope to meet ssome of you one day.

You seem to have a very healthy engine. Most drink oil.

But If it’s the normal 190 I doubt it made 197 BHP, but you’ll see that at Emerald.

The problem you have with the thermostat is that the spring inside has weakened, therefore it opens sooner from the closed (heater) circuit to the long (radiator) one, and the moving air cools it intil the spring lets the thermostat close again.
This is why in traffic the temp goes above 80, as normal.
Have it changed (it’s a bugger to do, I just did).

Have fun!

Neil,

Ditto, Ive done 4000 in mine since I had it and its never used a drop … At all

It just blew the Head Gasket instead

If it’s the normal 190 I doubt it made 197 BHP

That’s not the first time I’ve heard that. insane_DJ got those kind of numbers out of a Lotus 190 upgrade and nothing else.

I have an emerald and you may find that your stack dash readout differs quite a lot from the analysis mode reading you get from the emerald…

I have seen as much as 10 degrees difference…

Let us know what readings you get ??
