Good news, well done Wes!!!

Seconded :sunglasses:

But no rallycrossing in Anglesey please!

Well done Wes, be good to see how it goes, best of luck

Nice one Wes

We need pictures? Was it a violent removal? (I do hope so)

Can’t wait to hear your excuse, when you come round to ditching it

You saying you don’t care if they rip it out?

Sean do your worst… sorry best job of removing it

Yea yea…

Finally both race seats are now fitted :tired:. The drivers seat was straight forward and the modified frame fitted neatly first time. The passenger side was a totally different story. It’s taken me about 10 hours of fitting and buggering about fettling the frame to get it in but finally - success  It even got to the stage of grinding the 2mm protrusions off the end of the bolts for the side mounts to clear the centre tunnel. The plastic centre trim cover had to go, I’ll claim that as a weight saving.

The end result was worth the effort. The seats are much comfier and wider than the Lotus Corbeau seats and a fraction of the cost of the new Lotus FIA race seats.

The next mod is the big flaps! Yes, I’ve got to fit regulation huge mud flaps to all 4 wheels. The fronts are done and look ok but I think the backs will look a bit weird on an Exige. Pictures will follow soon. The extra drag is going to be a good excuse for my steady pace at Angelsey next weekend.

After that we should be ready to take the car for it’s MSA log book. Hopefully we can get an entry in time for the Lee Holland Rally at Angelsey on the 25th April. I haven’t competed for over 18 months so I’m hoping the Angelsey track day will get me back in the groove and give me a chance against the guys who are competing regularly.

Well done mate, nice job. I totally understand about the weight thing lol

That does look really good, looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at Anglesey :sunglasses:

This is such an amazing project and the attention to detail/quality of finish is fantastic. please keep posting pics…

Well done Wes, be good to meet you at Easter

There’s a serious risk that we may be ready to do an event! The car is booked for scrutineering on Monday night for it’s MSA logbook. Gareth has put in a provisional entry for the Lee Holland Stages at Angelsey on Sunday 25th April. Woohoo!!

Nothing provisional about the entry! Sent off and new racesuit bought, so the debut date set for the 25th!

Any spectators coming to see 80 mad rally crews compete around the track. Clockwise, anticlockwise and any other way the organisers can make an interesting route!

Alas there will probably be one Exige but also a Lotus Europa, Darrian, escorts etc and loads of Micras (who will be trying very very hard!)

Entry can be found on www.britishrally.co.uk under ‘british stage rallying’ and then Lee Holland rally.

Hopefully see a few of you there spectating.

From a navigator hopefully not feeling the same colour as the car

The car was scrutineered last night and achieved it’s competition logbook. Just a few small jobs to finish for the Rally on Sunday at Angelsey e.g. rear tow eye.

Gareth has just sent me the entry list and we are seeded number 8, no pressure then!!
