Just checked the s2 111r/exige diagram and its the same as the s1 a3-a10. Well my start button from deamon tweaks is like the lotus usa one but lights up blue so thats why i think its an led, however i suspect it has its own voltage regulator and restance built in, but personally im still not worried about the loadings.

ps you can soon tell cos bulb work no matter which way you put the polarity but leds dont.
OK, thanks chaps. Nice circuit diagram Andy. Not sure whether it’s best to take it off the oil pressure lamp or the alternator one.
When I get a chance, I’ll try to work out whether it’s an LED or not. I think I’ll use a relay if not.
OK, I’ve checked the switch. It’s definately the same as the Demon Tweeks one apart from the colour. It seems to be an LED as it only works when the power is connected the right way. I tried checking the resistance with my cheapo multimeter and it was reading infinity.
I’m still not sure whether I need a relay.
Gav, how can I identify the connections for the alternator lamp?
If the connector isnt marked a3 and a 10 then the wiring diagram (for the s1 as its all ive got at work) is G (green?) and NY (something and yellow?)

Thanks Gav. I haven’t had the dash apart yet. I just wanted to make sure I’ve got some idea of what I’m looking for when I find the time.
Anybody got any tips on removing the instrument panel? I guess it’s a case of remove the steering wheel and the the steering column shroud, then there’ll be a couple of bolts holding it in place?
Dont need to remove the steering wheel, just the shroud round it, then yes behind the intruments are two upward facing bolts, undo these and the instrument pod comes out.

Thanks for all the help guys. I’ve done this mod today and I’m really pleased with it.
Glad it worked, now just have to pull my finger out and do mine!
