Hey guys, 350 is a little steep but when you’ve got the GP circuit to yourself most of the day it’s a bargain, a steal!!! Hardly anyone there but as always very well organized by Book-a-Track. Shared a garage with the nicest chap driving a GT3RS, hell of guy with one of many vintage Ferraris (BIG WOW) and a heart of pure gold…A young lad and his father friends of his came down to pax, Dan has cancer and came out twice with me. First time was metal, second time it started to rain so took it really easy…his farther John a totally top man came out the once and I took him down Craners flat out 115-120mph braking into the Old Hairpin…Lol his face!
I’d like to say and say again…Dave, John and young Dan I had an excellent track day, one of the best, your company was very very enjoyable and I wish you all the very best for the future, I’ll pray for you Dan (I’m proud to do that) you will always be in my thoughts.
…I er drove fantastic today. I took Craners so well, flat out 115-120mph braking at the Old hairpin than flat out all the way to Mcleans time after time, but first time consistently all day! Rest of the circuit was perfect. The new setup on the car with the Ohlins running on the Benchmark settings was ace. A little adjustment maybe advised by JP (instructor) to try but all in all great stuff.
Met a chap called Pete (I think) under instruction all day in a beautiful red S, got faster and faster to a point where I couldn’t catch up balls out…goes to show it’s the best way to spend your money! Saw Mark also for the evening before leaving, hope the car was ok mate after Anglesey…enjoy Silverstone also, I see you’re in…wish I could make it!
Lastly the M3, could be a write off…strangely too far right at Starkeys…best of luck that man hope its not too much aggro.
Buta good day for me in many ways!
Cool, Jonny, pleased you had a great day with some great fellow petrolheads
Hi, Johnny - good to see you again, mate & glad you had a great day.
Had a fantastic evening - I reckon the best I’ve driven, until going into a high speed spin on craners ( schoolboy error… ) the force of which bent the rear engine cover hinge & split the roof above it… Going to get a quote to repair today, but am half tempted with a motorsport roof hmmmmmmmmmmmm…
So I missed the last hour just about.
Was well p*ssed off with the evening being stopped for 25 mins whilst a bus full of folk went round the track (TWICE!!!) and we were stopped from tracking.
Cheers
Mark
Hey Mark…a bus load of what did what where
Shame about the off but hey if you don’t every now and then youre just not trying…that or you’re totally pants I went off too trying to hit the limiter before braking at Coppice! Ran well out of road and lifted too much…big spin with my foot pressed hard up against brake pedal. I just missed the temp white barrier on the grass to the right
Still like the idea of the motorsport roof!!! Good luck mate hope it’s sorted in time for Silverstone.
