For the record should add Deep Purple to that list as per brochure, definitley at least one in existence.
Hope that comes up for sale, it would tempt me into an S1 I loved that colour on my Sport 190

Steve - are you sure it’s “original”, as the the one I recall, which was for sale last year, was the result of a respray?
Sorry but you are all wrong…
Chrome Orange is the In colour or should I say Inn
Picture Paul Golding
I’m prtty sure no Ruby Red Exiges esist.
The Mustard Yellow is right… “Norfolk Mustard” was the yellow the Elise was originally released in, a flat colour. “Mustard Yellow” was the later, pearlescent metallic that was offered towards the end of S1 production and is often referred to as “Spice Yellow” or “Norfolk Mustard Metallic”. All yellow Exiges were metallic.
Don’t forget that there were also a few produced in Cobalt Blue.
IIRC the full range of colours I’ve seen are:
Flat colours:
Calypso Red (rare)
Monaco White (rare)
Black (rare)
Metallic/Pearlescent Colours:
New Aluminium
Arctic Silver (rare, replaced New Aluminium late in production)
Quartz (rare)
Aqua (rare)
Black (rare)
Azure Blue
Nautilus Blue
Laser Blue
Cobalt Blue (rare)
Ice Blue (silver/blue, think there was one or two late cars released in this colour) (rare)
Titanium
Graphite Grey (few late cars in this colour) (rare)
Mustard Yellow
Lotus Racing Green
Metallic Black (name?) (rare)
Chrome Orange
I THINK that’s all of the original colours covered?
I’m sure there were one or two other colours that also left the factory
The paint code for mine is B81 - 340R Metalic Black … looks a bit grey in sunlight. The real Black metallic is a lot darker … dont ask how I know that … but dont ask Halfruads to mix your paint
Yeah and they are 340R Metallic black, not just metalic black which makes us even rarer
Good excuse for a pic …
I take back what I said about black - even I have to admit that looks stunning
I thought the 340R only came in one colour, so was this a colour originally intended for the 340R but they then didn’t bother?
I had forgotten about Aqua. I was mixing it up with the Azure Blue in the brochure. Did Azure ever get produced then?

Rob, this one was for sale at Caterham (Midlands) when I took Tony to pick his R300 up, so from memory late 2003. I imagine back then it was original but cannot swear to it.

Interesting, Steve, odds on it was original then for sure. Good spot!
My old Mustard Yellow one had black alcantara seats.

Don’t think your memory is what it used to be, sure the purple one is original.
I drove it circa 2005 before I found mine, car was based in Leeds at the time.
It actually looked a whole lot better in the flesh, very dark colour, wasn’t it officially aubergine.
Ermm, Nautilus Blue???
IIRC this is Azure Blue - again very rare (famous owner car):

340R did only come in one colour, but the lower “steps/sills” of the car are a metallic black… 340R metallic black
Certainly a few around in Azure… not rare, but not common either.

No, not quite.
Lava Orange
Nautilus blue…
