Christmas lakes meet anyone?

count me in, but i’ve no lotus at the moment :frowning:

Stuff that! Late night in Blackpool booked for the 30th!! Ha-ha! Then on to Wiltshire for New Years. Maybe!

Can we agree on the 30th?

We could meet by the pub in the layby at Ings at say 11.00am, so not too early for anyone.

That should give plenty of time for chat, food, tyre kicking & a drive (weather permitting)

Good with me Tim

Long walk then ???

Good for me, too, Thanks, Tim.

ok for me, thanks Tim

Works for me, weather dependant

Much as I was looking forward to this outing, I’m getting a bit nervous. Four inches of snow on the drive and road. . . salt, here there and everywhere and last night(Mon) -13.5c outside our centrally heated abode.
However, I will wait until the last moment before chickening out in the Exige. Still up for it in TT.

I’m keen to do this in the exige. Fingers crossed for milder weather next week…

Me too Tim as Exige could do with a run as not been out since our trip to Lakes in early November.
If not will be 4 wheel drive unless the Mrs will let me bring her TT to keep yours company Thommo

Still keen but no signs of a thaw down here as yet.

My battery is FLAT… honestly.

Its raining here but currently it won’t get off the drive. I am hopeful with a little more rain I may have a chance but I am guessing its not looking good for this anyway?

Ive been holding off posting due to the uncertain weather and also cause i twisted my knee on Christmas eve morning.

My battery is on charge and i need to swap wheels tomorrow. Still not sure about the lake roads. Thoughts anyone?

Snow/ice seems to have gone Kirkby Lonsdale/Lancaster area not sure about Kendal.

Snow has gone around Garstang (10 miles south of Lancaster). My road and drive now clear so I’m hopeful of coming in the yellow peril.

Had to turn back 2 miles from Ings yesterday as the traffic had ground to a halt in fresh snow. Been up today and whilst no snow all the way up the M6 still plenty as you reach Staveley / Ings. The main roads are fine but side roads still dodgy and whilst I registered 7 degs on the M6 at lancaster, it was only 2 degs in Windermere and a very slight thaw.

No more snow forecast for next few days so would expect main roads to stay OK but with the usual pea soupy fog stuff hanging around by the looks of it.

Steve

Thanks for that. Are you there tomorrow for an update?

My son James was up in the Lakes today in TT. He found main roads ok, mostly. But off piste in Newby Bridge area even well used roads had snow and he was down to 20mph for the most part.
If we can make Ings and pub we can still have a meal and a drink.
And kick a few tyres. If you remember our last outing was hit by fog in parts, especially for those coming from Yorks, and yet it cleared in the area aroun d the Watermill at Ings. Still game for a trot out.

Me too Steve, lets finalise it pm wed.
