Buying an Exige S ... Newbie Questions

More feel yes, learn more … errmm not sure about that. I know you dont like M3s, but a manual shift e46 m3 will teach you a lot about car control and lapping fast. Am I on the wrong forum :O) Sorry chaps. The exige s is the best choice.

I don’t think you can be that objective about an Exige. The experience is completely subjective. Just looking at an Exige is something special, getting into it brings home that this is no ordinary sport car. It is the closest experience I have had to a single seater, it has that snug, almost claustrophobic feeling. The way the Exige communicates to you as a driver is something a more refined saloon can never do. Braking and Cornering become very integrated with you and at the end of the day I know for me, the Exige will always be the most rewarding drive. Trying to be fastest round a lap consumes large amounts of cash. A standard Exige driven well will provide a real rewarding day.

:sunglasses:Now thats more like it…maybe i’ll keep the exige just abit longer :sunglasses:

:sunglasses: ok… but surely an exige is an exige weather is an S1 or S2?? :sunglasses:

Agreed, the two are very different cars. I looked at both as an every day car. I think the main difference between the two is that a Series 1 owner is slightly mad. I live is constant fear of a brake down, it has spent 30% of its time at the dealer and although I know that the K series is a very robust engine once the Rover cost down items are replaced it still plays on my mind.

That said the every time I walk into the garage I fall in love with it. It is much rawer than a S2 and the increased noise, vibrations; power band makes every drive an event.

Fortunately now it is fully sorted and I am crossing fingers for some trouble free motoring. If I could just stop it leaking in the rain I will be there  See the S1 and S2 do have somthing in common!
