Since I’ve owned a propper Exige (S1) I’ve never had an itch to scratch. Buy an S1 or see your doctor.
You could order the new V6 , more than twice the power of them old S1s
A dilema I am going through too, although no action required until late 2012 when my company car lease is up.
My current possibles list for that scenario is as follows;
2 seaters
= Fezza 360
= Fezza 430
= AMV8 Vantage
= Audi R8
4 seaters
= Continental Gt
= Any 911
= DB9
= Masser GT
= GTR
= CSL
Quite a bit of variety there, and some (i.e the Fezzas) which I doubt would suit for everday use
I dunno, its too hard, so I’ll probably stick with the Exige and walk to work!
I’ve got an F430 spider and its surprisingly practical. You could easily use it as an everyday car. Its far more practical and easier to use than my Exige is thats for sure. (better visibility, easy to get in and out of, loads of space, F1 box is great in traffic etc etc)
Suprisingly practical - 2.00 a mile in depreciation and running costs

Any jobs going at your place???
I am going to pretend I didnt see that!
Its probably more actually… DOH!
but worth every penny. I love it soooooo much! had no idea it would be so good.
Doubt I will sell mine, but am seriously considering a GTR, have been for some time, as a daily driver, with a few upgrades of course to help propell my tescos shopping along, I reckon 750-800bhp will do.
Hands up if you’re feeling that you’ve made the wrong career choices! Thats a dream garage list to me, would love to actually be in the position to choose one
On a more serious note, I would struggle to find a car that will replace the exige and be a good all rounder, too much compromise. Why not just reduce the budget and run 2 cars, life is too short imo.

Tried a 458 yet ???
996 GT3 were coming under 40k a few months back. But factor in the cost of insurance, track day and other consumables and I reckon the S2S and the Golf R32 I would have to sell to buy it are together still cheaper to run. They are holding their values now though but will possibly dip again in the autumn.
I’m with Fluffy on this - Exige S1 resolves all itches
(However if the Exige didn’t exist then a [color:#CC0000]Chevron GR8 would do the trick!)
I have heard 911 GT3’s are expensive to use on track days with consumables etc.
Went to look at an M3 at the weekend but wasnt sure if they are starting to look tired. Then checked out a 911 s, my car was parked where I could see both and I thought mine looked so much better. Couldnt justify 55K for a 58plate porker, when I was stood next to it I wasnt that amazed.
Difficult to decide how to shift your asset, at least the prices seem to be holding at the moment. I cant see that in anything else accept a 911. Although then it comes down to TCO’s, again I think the exige is fairly cheap to run.
