alloy options on an s2

Shame the centre caps fall out all the time on track and most just give up with them in the end :frowning:
Happened to me also last time on track. I am thinking of sticking some tape over them next time. I hope that will keep them from popping out.
Wont make any difference, they’ll just fall out later. The heat built up on track sessions makes them brittle and the lugs lose their spring and ability to grip the wheel. Options seem to be giving up, or siliconing them in.

It would be much easier to just fit a different set of wheels.

Another use for double sided tape?

or removing them prior to every track session.

I used to remove the fronts (when I remembered) however at my last trackday even the rears fell out, and the only way I found to the centre caps out was to take the wheels off, just too much grief in the end :frowning:

Mine are fine lol

I put a bit of silicon on the centres as they didnt seem very good fit.

I dont bother running them - lost too many (I quite like the look of the wheel without them aswell tbh)

The only thing the 240r caps are any use for are these -

they fit perfectly and actually snap into place… (shameless plug I know…)

Gav

I’ve also lost innumerable caps, front and the odd rear one. The latest ones are a massive improvement though, they have much thicker lugs and bigger ‘bump’. Pretty confident they won’t fall out…

…but I haven’t tested them on a proper hot day.

I had some of the “later” version, still fell out they just took longer to fail, why did they not use a metal spring clip design?

Oh well, back to plan A…
