3 yr uprgrade plan

Hey rich how are you mate

All the right stuff seems to have been said buddy…for me tho Ohlins 2-way and Cam switch. I love my 4-pot break set up allbeit had problems recently in the wet at Silverstone but my pads and discs are on there last legs. Also I had my pedals adjusted and learn’t to heel and toe, it makes a massive difference and with a more aggressive clutch you’ll have no choice. Erm I guess making it lighter wont cost much more either to improve performance.

I may add more later I’m a little jet lagged.

NA ROCKS :sunglasses:

A new remapped 2-11 ecu
Lotus sport injectors
High pressure lotus sport fuel pump
Forge Motorsport intercooler

I think it was about 2,2k

I spoke to Paul at CNs last week and they are now at about c2k for the upgrade - but that doesn’t include a Forge Intercooler.

Essex Autosport (was Sinclaire) can do you a DIY power upgrade, give them a call

Sinclaires and Hanger111 are the main tuners for the Exige S in the UK.

Mine, Ade and Whitesyback are running circa of 300bhp with the Sinclaires maps - Although our cars have bespoke maps, if you run a spec that has already been catered for, I believe Sincs can load a remap onto the ecu be sending it via post. This does of course mean you will have to find someone local that is prepared to fit a chargecooler/intercooler, injectors, smaller pulley, fuel pump, exhaust etc.

hey jonny thought you’d be along
thx for all the info guys.
seems im on the right route.
think i’ll wait for some ohlins to come up or fast road nitrons

as i proberbly need new discs etc soon i’ll see if the finances will stretch to ap 4 pots if not do i just get bigger discs with the current calipers? and some braised hoses. what do peope run on the rear if they upgrade the fronts??

sc is the longer term investment, so will get the cam lowered over winter nad see if they improves things on track.

and of course soe driver training. on this note are there any worthwhile or lotus specific midlands ish guys, as im aware of walshy days, but they are way down sarf, and would mean time off work or nights away from family, which never goes down too well :frowning:

thx

That’s because it doesn’t need one  Unless you’re missing another BHP or two.

10-15 bhp says you do!

Mine was done by CN in March and dyno’d at 267bhp. No Forge but with TRD filter

I doubt that figure, or was it measured during a trip to iceland. No, not the shop, the country!

Only going on what Paul said on the ones that they dyno’d

I’m sure Boothy will confirm actual facts when he pops on this thread

I doubt it is worth 15hp when cold, but it would be well worth 15hp in heat soak conditions

With the Forge CN’s dyno’d mine at 277.4 Definately at least a +10 gain…

Nice to see .4 is so important

It would be if you spilled .4 of a man’s pint when you were discussing it

You really should drive a car with one fitted before making that coment Tim, totally transformes the car. Much better than the shitty standard one Lotus fit and dyno prooven to be better than the not so good Lotus sport upgraded one.
The cars tested on CN’s dyno’s always get around 266bhp on a stock cooler and 278bhp with the Forge, the figures dont lie

on the brakes - i have the 304mm AP disks on the standard 2 pot calipers, they make a lot of difference. not over-braking but i had to up the spring rates as the car was diving under heavy braking.
i replaced 2-way ohlins with 1-way nitrons / eibach springs and i find it a big improvement for both road and track.
i also replaced the lotus adjustable ARB with the eliseparts 7/8" one and that has really dialed out a lot of roll.

the car is more planted and controllable on track but still very usable and comfortable on the road and a perfectly good daily driver.

if that’s what you want then i would consider looking at the above.

for power, i’m another convert to the CN setup including forge intercooler but using my previously installed k&n typhoon and now a 2bular 8x22. no idea of the power, i’ve only done two trackdays with this setup but i’m very happy with it.

Hey Rich, yep stiffer adjustable arb forgot about that cheap too but I’d defo go for 2 way Ohlins. I very much understand the comments about the car diving forward which I had and used to compensate by stiffening the front more but actually it was pointed out to me during instruction and by someone else that really I was too hard on braking. I’m now a lot smoother carring more speed into corners and don’t really get this so much anymore… with a head of steam maybe lol. I have not ever used Nitrons so can’t comment there but I actual quite like dicking around with the settings from track to track you can mega feel the difference and there is always a safe place to return.

With regards instruction I use a chap in W’ton called JP and he really is excellent. I tend to have halfs days, which cuts costs and gives alone time in the car which I value to reflect on what he has tought me. He travels and is very reasonable.

cheers jonny. think i’ll get the arb and hopefully suspension this winter, brakes next year and finally go to the dark side of the dark side in 2012.
with the training guy does he teach at trackdays or on puplic roads? sorry for being dim

thx

richbk

Usually track days from my experience, never had any road training, however I’m sure some will give roadcraft training similar to the Police stuff I did in the past
