Fitting Wheel Bearings

As part of the refurb I had the uprights powdercoated, unfortunately they have coated the inner area where the bearing slips into. I offered up the bearings and they are stopping about 5mm before fully home. Do I need to wet and dry the powder coat back off or will they pull in on the bolts? I am co...

Wheel Bearings into uprights

Currently refurbishing the running gear. When I took the uprights off, the ball joint nuts seemed to have scraped on the back of the speed sensor covers. When refitting do I need to fit the bearings after fitting the uprights (whole lot more difficult for torquing). Or will it be ok to fit the beari...

Going to start on my wishbones this year, one query about powdercoating etc. Do they mask off the internal surfaces for the UJ and bushes? or do those get blasted and coated as well? Don't think I would be brave enough to drill holes in a wishbone though!

As for sacrificing a vent, in my Elise (ran it through 3 summers on and off track) I never had the face vents open because I didn't like to be sand blasted by grit :lolno: I admit the hardtop of the Exige may change that, but I've gained AC (until it inevitably breaks) so I think I'll be ok. Sorry ...

Thanks for the approval, used to use the old Lotus BBS back in the day, this looks like a great resource.
Will keep an eyeout for Exiges.com trackday in the meantime hoping for Bedford on the 14th.
