Hi Will, I also have a Bernard/Guglielmi converted S1 Exige. I bought it in a pretty tired state, now fully rebuilt with a few improvements to the original setup, so if you ever need any advice on repairs or mods, give me a shout as I can probably save you time & head scratching.

I'm surprised it reached that figure. Looked pretty uncared for if (no offence to prev owner!) and the respray looked more like a quick blow-by without bothering to mask off grilles, spolier uprights etc. And the coolant level was low, probably just a leak but demonstrates a lack of care & maint...

Put some heat on it? Usually this will expand the nut far quicker than the shaft and it will lose its grip. If you give it a blast of MAP gas and not for too long, then it shouldn't melt the grease in the bearing either.
