Re: Another S1 on Collecting Cars coming up..
Interesting! Looks pretty original (bar the addition of timing gear), presumably it's just been stored for the last 15+ years looking at the history :o It's metioned on the advert that it makes around 210 bhp with the new engine; wonder what was done to it? Hmm, yeah it says a replacement factory e...

Re: S1 gearbox
It's the PG1 Rover gearbox but with closer ratios than the standard Elise. B4BP is the code to look for.

Re: S1 Perspex Engine Cover
That would be awesome if you could remanufacture the perspex part, Dom. If it's any help whatsoever, I spoke to a chap at the Lotus factory some years ago who told me the OEM for that part was Peerless Plastics down the road from them in Thetford, I believe they're still around: https://www.peerless...

Re: 2006 Exige S
Chapter #2, alignment. Do I seek perfection and try to adjust again, straightening out the wheel... or leave it? It was probably less than 5 degrees out... Yes, you should seek perfection. Only because it winds me up no end if I dont have a level steering wheel. I find just about nothing else as an...

Re: Emira GT4
Love the look, makes the road car look a bargain at £100k less though! I know the GT4 is a racecar but that's a lot of cash for the extra motorsport bits: * sequential box * cage * brake + damper upgrades * fuel tank Not sure that's £100k having stripped out all the roadcar bits as well? Anyway, no ...

Re: Sudden long brake pedal travel
I'm not that familiar with the S2 but at a guess, the master cylinder could be knackered. Either fluid leaking past the seals internally or it's somehow drawn air into the system?

Re: 2006 Exige S
Nice. Looks super slippy but good fun  I've always found my Exige tricky to catch in oversteer-y situations. Obviously (lack of) driver skill is a big factor  but have you found the LSD helps make things more controllable? Yes great conditions for some slower speed fooling around. I ...
